REMEMBER AMY.

A new era has begun with a lifestyle that seems  go perpetually forward, all too fast. People caught up in such should reflect upon the past and remember one of Miami's previous residents---Amy Billig.
Ms.Billig, who lived in Cocount Graove, disappeared at age 17, on March 5, 1974.  Her whereabouts are still unknown.
However, she still remains a jewel to her family and friends, and the memories she created are timeless.  She is the daughter of Susan and the late Ned Billig and sister of a younger brother Joshua.  Amy was born in New York on September 9th, 1957.  Later the family moved to Coconut Grove, where Mrs. Billig and Josha still reside.  Amy, a  bright intuitive teenager was a true lover of animals.  She worked at the Sea-quarium in Key Biscane training dolphins.  An avid reader she read books such as The Painted Bird, The Primal Scream and poetry by Sylvia Path.  Amy was friendly and well liked by her peers and lived her life to the fullest.  Her disappareance is known as Miami's most baffling and has received national attention.  Even years later contemporary news programs still show documentaries on it,  amazingly introducing new information.
Now that the year 2000 has arrived most people in Miami are planning ahead.  As a community, it should remember a previous resident---Amy Billig. She may be gone, but she is still alive in  the hearts and minds of family and friends and others who have followed her plight.
